BRIEF RESUME: On 05/27/2010 at approximately 1320 hours the Maryland State Police Barracks received a call for a theft of a bicycle. The victim advised that she saw a young white male with a black baseball hat take her bicycle from her house without permission. The victim described her bicycle as a blue female bike with a black wire basket. A "BOLO" was sent to the Ocean City Police Department for the property and suspect.

At approximately 1335 hours Officer Thompson with the Department of Natural Resources Police advised he had possibly located the stolen bicycle and suspect at St. Louis Ave and N. Division St. in Ocean City, MD. Officer Thompson identified the suspect by his Delaware ID card as Ethan Cord Truitt.

At approximately 1355 hours Trooper First Class Fort of the Berlin Barracks transported a witness to the above location for a positive identification of the property and suspect. The witness advised he saw Truitt stealing the bicycle and carrying a skateboard as he rode the bicycle down Old Bridge Rd in Ocean City, MD. The witness stated that he yelled for Truitt to stop. The witness advised Truitt then dropped his skateboard and continued to ride east on Old Bridge Rd.

At approximately 1406 hours Tpr. Grozier arrived at the above location and met with TFC Fort, Officer Thompson, the witness, and Truitt. The witness advised that Truitt was positively the person who stole the victim's bicycle. Truitt apologized to the witness and victim for stealing the bicycle. Truitt advised he stole the bicycle because he was tired of walking.

At approximately 1425 hours TFC Fort returned the bicycle to the victim.

Truitt was subsequently arrest for theft less than $100.00 and transported to the Maryland State Police barracks in Berlin, MD.
