Speed Boat Crashes onto Beach

On June 17, 2007 at approximately 3:00 PM on of the speedboats that was participating in the off shore speed boat races veered off course and crashed into the beach in the area of 17^th Street. The boat, WICKED, a 42 feet racing boat, was severely damaged and stuck on the beach. No one was injured as a result of the incident. A crane was called in to remove the boat and the crane subsequently got stuck on the beach at 31^st street and second crane had to be contacted. As of 9:55 PM the boat was still on the beach.
