CRANE MAKES REPAIRS ON REHOBOTH BEACH

This Daewoo crane was staged on the beach at the foot of Rehoboth Avenue this weekend. Some ribs that hold the new outfall pipes have come loose, and a few even came off completely, such as one on Maryland Avenue. These pipes drain storm water from the streets into the ocean.

TOW FROM RESERVED LIFEGUARD PARKING

This young man (in black shirt) parked the Toyota 4Runner in the reserved lifeguard parking on Brooklyn Avenue on Monday. It was reported to police around 1:25 p.m. He returned as Coastal Towing arrived to remove it.

Police said over the radio that he didn't have money to pay the show-up fee, and he was unable to reach his father on the cell phone, so they had him towed. He said he "didn't see the sign" and faced a fine of $25 plus towing.
