The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated a dwelling fire which occurred on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 9:45 AM in the Rehoboth Beach Yacht and Country Club on the unit block of Coventry Lane in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

The Rehoboth Beach Fire Department, assisted by the Lewes, Bethany Beach, Indian River, Milton and Roxana Fire Departments, responded to the scene. Upon arrival they encountered fire and smoke showing.

Damages have been estimated at approximately $250,000. No injuries were reported. The home was equipped with working smoke detectors.

Delaware State Fire Marshal Investigators have determined that the fire originated in the attic and was caused by a lightning strike.
