DSP News Release: Death Investigation: Body Found on Beach

Delaware State Police have identified the body of a man who was found on a beach near Rehoboth.

Troopers have identified the victim as Oliver Shockley, 34, of the 200 block of North Rehoboth Blvd in Milford.

The Medical Examiner’s Officer ruled the cause of death accidental and the manner drowning.

The death is still under investigation

Date and Time of Occurrence: Thursday June 25, 2009 on or about 00:40 hours

State Troopers are investigating the death of an individual whose body appears to have been washed up on the beach area just south of the town limits of Rehoboth.

The body of an unidentified male victim was located by a passerby on the beach just after 12:30 in the morning. The race of the victim appears to be that of a light complexion black male possibly Hispanic. The victim was fully clothed, and is believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties. The victim is approximately 5’7” tall and had the word “evil” with a red line placed diagonally across the word tattooed on his left forearm. The victim had no form of I.D. and the body was turned over to the Medical Examiner’s office to determine the cause and manner of death.
