Delaware State Police Saturday July 18, 2009 around 7:13 P.M. responded to a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Robinsville Road and Harts Road W/O Lewes.

The crash occurred when a 2007 white Acura TL turned into the path of a 2007 black Honda Ruckus motorcycle. The Acura TL was initially stationary southbound Robinsville Road waiting for a vehicle to pass through the intersection. After the non involved vehicle pasted through the intersection, the Acura attempted to turn left onto eastbound Harts Road. The operator of the Acura TL failed to observe the Honda motorcycle also traveling southbound through the intersection. This resulted in the Honda motorcycle striking the rear of the Acura. Robert A. Walton was ejected from his motorcycle landing on the roadway. Walton sustained serious head trauma. Walton was taken to Beebe Medical Center Lewes. It is believed from there Walton will be flown to Christiana Hospital.

Walton was not wearing a helmet. The operator of the Acura Jack D. Zimmerman was not injured.

Delaware State Police are continuing their investigation. There is no additional information available at the present time.
