State Police Searching for Burglary Suspect
Released Friday July 17, 2009,

Suspect:
Medium to Dark complexioned black Male
Short cropped hair
5’04” to 5’09” in height, slender build
Clothing: red and black basketball jersey

Victim:
12 year old female
19000 block of Norwood Street
West Rehoboth, Rehoboth, Delaware

No injuries reported

Summary of incident:
Early Friday morning July 17, 2009, Delaware State Police responded to the 19000 block of Norwood Street West Rehoboth, Delaware for a Home Invasion complaint. This occurred around 4:00 a.m.

A 12 year old female victim along with 4 other family members was asleep in their residence. The other members at the residence asleep were the victim’s 34 year old father, 39 year old mother, 15 year old brother and 8 year old sister. The other family members were not confronted during the burglary. The 12 year old was awakened by a black male suspect rubbing her arms. The suspect told the victim to remove her clothing, grabbed the victim around the neck, and told her he would kill her if she screamed. The victim screamed out kicking the suspect who then fled from the residence.

Delaware State Police K-9 and additional units canvassed the area for the suspect however they were unsuccessful. State Police are continuing their investigation and request the public’s assistance in providing investigative information.
