Single Vehicle Crash Investigated

Dewey Beach- The Delaware State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred yesterday at 4:53 PM on SR 1, approximately one mile south of Dewey Beach.

A 2004 Landrover Discovery, operated by Elizabeth MacNab, 18, of Bethany Beach, was traveling southbound on SR 1.  While traveling southbound, MacNab lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center median.  MacNab continued through the median and traveled southbound in the northbound lanes of SR 1. She then overcorrected the vehicle to the right and the vehicle rolled over several times.

MacNab was flown to Christiana Hospital and admitted.  It is unknown if MacNab was wearing her seatbelt.

The southbound lanes of SR 1 were closed for approximately one hour as a result of this crash.

This crash remains under investigation.  Alcohol involvement in this crash is unknown and charges have not been filed at this time.
