Type of Incident: Sobriety Checkpoint

A cooperation effort between the Maryland State Police, Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Berlin Police Department , Ocean City Police Department and the Ocean Pines Police Department netted the arrest of 5 suspects for DUI and CDS violations.

A sobriety checkpoint was conducted at US 50 West of Hall Rd, Wor. Co. MD. The operation was conducted between 11:00 P.M and 3:00 AM. During this time a total of 831 vehicles were checked during the operation.

During the checkpoint, 18 motorists were pulled to the side for additional field sobriety testing. Of those three were arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence. Additionally, two individuals were arrested for possession of CDS. The goal of the checkpoint was to reduce the number of drunk and drugged drivers on Worcester County roadways.

5 Total subjects were arrested.
