BRIEF RESUME:
On September 04, 2009 at 1:52 a.m. TFC. Scott A. Moore #2269 responded to W/B Rt 50 @ the 56 mm for a collision involving two tractor trailers. Upon arrival further investigation determined that Veh. 01 (tractor trailer) was attempting to make a U-turn in the middle of W/B Rt. 50. Pulling a trailer, Veh. 01 was blocking both lanes of the roadway. Veh. 02 (tractor Trailer) was traveling W/B Rt. 50 also pulling a trailer. Veh, 02 did not see the other tractor trailer blocking the roadway. Veh. 02 collided with Veh, 01, striking Veh. 01 in the rear trailer. Veh. 02 was destroyed as well as Veh. 01 trailer. No injuries were reported from both drivers. Tfc. Moore contacted Jess Jr’s Towing in Cambridge that specializes in commercial towing. The road was closed for approximately 11 hours while Jess Jrs removed both vehicles from the roadway. State Highway was also called out for assistance in closing down the roadway. Moore charged Driver 01 Steven Garfoot with impeding the steady flow of traffic and negligent driving. The driver of Veh. 02 was not charged in the incident.
